BNTB kept busiest

Banking proved to be the busiest sector on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) last week.Butterfield Bank led the way, with its common shares falling by five cents (1.1 percent) to $4.60, with 10,632 shares traded.It also saw 173 preference shares change hands, but the share value held firm at $1,225.

It also saw 173 preference shares change hands, but the share value held firm at $1,225.

The only other mover was the Ascendant Group Ltd., which transacted 844 shares to move up five cents (0.3 percent) to $16.05.

Overall, the Index dropped 7.82 points (0.35 percent) to 2,232.44, with 11,476 Bermuda shares worth $64,104.85 traded, and 273 US shares worth $207,190 change hands.

The BSX Insurance Index, however, was up 12.19 points (1.51 percent) at 793.72.
