Butterfield Bank's shares rose 3.4 percent (five cents) on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday.

The bank traded 1,200 shares to close at $1.50.

Overall the Index also climbed 23.92 points (1.92 percent) to 1,268.17.

The BSX Insurance Index, however, dropped one point (0.11 percent) to 938.
