Butterfield Bank's common shares rose 20 cents (5.26 percent) to $4 on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday.

The bank traded 6,290 common shares during the day.

But BF&M Ltd. dropped 20 cents (1.34 percent) to $15.05, with 2,000 shares changing hands.

The Index, as a whole, was up 32.05 points (1.54 percent) at 2,114.51, as 8,290 shares worth BD$55,865 and 1,250 shares worth US$14,000 were transacted.

The BSX Insurance Index also climbed 3.82 points (0.4 percent) to 953.56.
