Butterfield Bank's preference shares rose 6.3 percent ($75) on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday.

Closing at $1,275, the bank traded 395 shares during the day.

Overall the Index remained unchanged at 1,271.03, with 2,695 shares worth US$535,092.78 changing hands.

The BSX Insurance Index, however, fell eight points (0.78 percent) to 1,017.
