BNTB shares climb

Butterfield Bank's rights to buy shares for $1.21 rose 16.66 percent (one cent) in trading on the Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday, after the bank's share price rose.

The bank traded 536,897 rights to close at seven cents. It also saw 7,400 shares change hands as it climbed 7.4 percent (10 cents) to $1.45.

Elsewhere BF&M Ltd. was up 0.74 percent (10 cents) at $13.60, with 1,000 shares transacted.

But the Ascendant Group Ltd. slipped 0.35 percent (five cents) to $14, as 1,200 shares were traded.

The Index, as a whole, increased 32.33 points (2.49 percent) to 1,332.36, with 1,546, 497 shares worth $154,869.56 transacted.

The BSX Insurance Index dropped six points (0.59 percent) to 1,006.
