Butterfield Bank's common share price returned to $2 yesterday, dropping 20 percent (50 cents) on The Bermuda Stock Exchange during the day.

The bank traded 8,100 shares.

The only other trader was BF&M Ltd., which saw eight shares change hands, to open and close at $14.

Overall the Index fell 161.35 points (9.14 percent) to 1,603.53, with 8,108 shares worth $17,512 transacted.

The BSX Insurance Index, however, was up 7.33 points (0.74 percent) at 997.71.
