BNTB shares mixed

It proved to be a week of mixed fortunes for Butterfield Bank, with its preference shares climbing $6 (0.49 percent) and its common shares dropping 10 cents (2.43 percent) on the Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) last week.

The bank traded 1,405 preference shares to close on $225 and 124,646 common shares to finish at $4.

Staying in banking, Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd. also saw 63 shares change hands.

Elsewhere, Bermuda Container Line Ltd. fell 26.53 percent ($3.45) to $9.55, with 2,100 shares transacted.

Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd. also traded 2,000 shares, declining 20 cents (3.33 percent) to $5.80.

In insurance, BF&M Ltd. slide 75 cents (4.74 percent) to $15.05, as 1,000 shares changed hands, while Argus Group Holdings Ltd. also traded 150 shares, but its share price held firm at $9.50.

Overall, the Index dropped 48.65 points (2.34 percent) to 2,077.18, with 129,959 shares worth BD$547,150.40 and 23,918 shares worth US$1,992,764.70 transacted.

The BSX Insurance, however, was up 10.68 points (1.08 percent) at 972.66.
