Butterfield Bank traded 49,467 shares on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday.

But the bank's share price held firm at $1.42.

The only other trader was BF&M Ltd., which saw 200 shares change hands, however its share value remained unchanged at $13.01.

The Index, as a whole, fell 27.34 points (2.14 percent) to 1,247.65, with 49,667 shares worth $72,846.55 transacted.

The BSX Insurance Index also dipped four points (0.39 percent) to 1,028.
