BNTB's busy day

Butterfield Bank was the only trade on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday, as its common shares went down and trading increased in its common shares.

The common shares slid 10 cents (2.1 percent) to $4.65, with 5,048 shares traded.

A total of 108 preference shares changed hands, but their price held firm at $1,200.

The Index, as a whole, dropped 17,47 points (0.77 percent) to 2,240.27, with 5,048 shares worth $23,316 transacted.

The BSX Insurance Index also declined by 12.19 points (1.51 percent) to 793.72.
