Butterfield Bank's preference shares continued their strong showing from last week, climbing $50 (4.34 percent) on the Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) yesterday.

The shares closed the day at $200, with a total of 784 traded.

The bank also saw 920 of its common shares change hands, but its share price held firm at $5.40.

Overall, the Index remained the same at 2,328.93.

The BSX Insurance Index was up 5.52 points (0.69 percent) at 794.29.
