BSX bounces back

The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) rose yesterday following two straight days of declines.The Index advanced 2.06 points (0.11 percent) to 1,883.4, with 45,463 shares worth BD$147,241.25 and 35 shares worth US$43,416.11 traded.Butterfield Bank was busiest, seeing 42,463 common shares and 35 preference shares change hands, but both of their share prices held firm at $2.75 and $225 respectively.

Butterfield Bank was busiest, seeing 42,463 common shares and 35 preference shares change hands, but both of their share prices held firm at $2.75 and $225 respectively.
Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd. also transacted 2,200 shares, but its share value remained unchanged at $7.70, as did the Ascendant Group Ltd., which traded 800 shares worth $15 each.
The BSX Insurance Index was up 4.86 points (0.49 percent) at 980.64.
