BSX falls 2.6% in across-the-board fall
Transportation, banking and utilities were the hardest hit sectors on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) last week.
Bermuda Container Line Ltd. fell by 20.41 percent ($2.45) to $9.55, with 210 shares traded.
The Ascendant Group Ltd. also dropped 4.36 percent (70 cents) to $15.35, as 20,000 shares changed hands.
Meanwhile Butterfield Bank's common shares slid 4.34 percent (20 cents) to $4.40, with 29,326 transacted.
The bank also traded 451 preference shares, but their share value held firm at $200.
Elsewhere, Devonshire Industries Ltd. rose by 11.6 percent ($1.45) to $13.95, as 600 shares traded. Argus Group Holdings Ltd. was also up 1.26 percent (10 cents) at $8, with 5,096 shares transacted.
The Index, as a whole, dropped 55.94 points (2.57 percent) to 2,176.5, with 55,232 shares worth $490,390.55 traded.
