BSX falls further

Banking and insurance were the hardest hit sectors on The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX), as the Index slipped below 2,000 yesterday.
Butterfield Bank's share value fell 10 cents (2.4 percent) to $4, with 266,455 shares traded, while BF&M Ltd. dropped saw its price drop by 45 cents (2.9 percent) to $15, as 1,100 shares changed hands.
Overall, the Index declined 24 points (1.19 percent) to 1,984.65, with 267,555 shares worth $1,082,995 being transacted.
The BSX Insurance Index, however, finished the day up 22.44 points (2.81 percent) to 818.97.
