It proved to be a day of ups and downs on The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) yesterday.

Butterfield Bank saw its share price rise 10 cents (0.92 percent) to $10.95, with 290 shares traded, but Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd. fell 75 cents (12.5 percent) to $5.25, as 19,556 shares changed hands.

Overall the Index closed up 10.68 points (0.31 percent) at 3,489.59, with 19,846 shares worth $95,808.75 transacted.

In contrast, The BSX Insurance Index declined 5.25 points (0.61 percent) to 849.92.
