BSX's busy week

Business proved to be booming on The Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) last week, with no fewer than six companies seeing their share prices rise or fall.

West Hamilton Holdings Ltd. slid $1.75 (15.21 percent) to $9.75, with 1,329 shares traded, while Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd. dipped 50 cents (3.84 percent) to $12.50, as 200 shares changed hands.

Meanwhile Argus Group Holdings Ltd. was down five cents (0.54 percent) at $9.20, with 8,003 shares transacted.

But Bermuda Container Line Ltd. climbed $1.05 (8.36 percent) to $13.60, as 1,200 shares shifted, KeyTech Ltd. increased 50 cents (5.88 percent) to $9, with 11,103 shares traded, and Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd. was up 25 cents (five percent) at $5.25, as 20,000 shares changed hands.

Other traders included Butterfield Bank, which transacted 86,508 common shares and 70 preference shares, Watlington Waterworks (2,757 shares) and BF&M Ltd. (200), but all of their share values held firm.

Overall, the Index advanced 13.32 points (0.65 percent) to 2,035.66, with 131,210 shares worth BD$641,423.10 and 1,972 shares worth US$106,488.20 traded.

The BSX Insurance Index was also up 6.38 points (0.66 percent) at 946.69.
