Busy day on BSX

Insurance proved to be the strongest sector on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday.BF&M Ltd. saw its share price rise 50 cents (3.26 percent) to $15.80, with 3,150 shares traded, while Argus Group Holdings Ltd. was up 40 cents (4.39 percent) to $9.50, as 9,277 shares changed hands.Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd. also climbed 95 cents (18.81 percent) to $6, with 13,655 shares transacted.

Insurance proved to be the strongest sector on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday.

BF&M Ltd. saw its share price rise 50 cents (3.26 percent) to $15.80, with 3,150 shares traded, while Argus Group Holdings Ltd. was up 40 cents (4.39 percent) to $9.50, as 9,277 shares changed hands.

Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd. also climbed 95 cents (18.81 percent) to $6, with 13,655 shares transacted.

Meanwhile Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd. slipped 35 cents (6.42 percent) to $5.10 on the eve of its 40th anniversary and Butterfield Bank traded 42,187 shares, falling 10 cents (2.43 percent) to $4. Butterfield also transacted 15 preference shares.

The Index, as a whole, was up 9.94 points (0.49 percent) at 2,058.64, with 70,791 shares worth BD$390,325.25 and 15 shares worth US$17,926.67 changing hands.

The BSX Insurance Index was also up 4.56 points (0.47 percent) at 957.02.
