Butterfield Bank dropped 10 cents (1.11 percent) to close at $8.90 on The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) yesterday.

The bank traded 5,406 shares to close at $8.90.

The only other trader was Stevedoring Services Ltd., which saw 500 shares change hands, but its share price held firm at $7.

The Index, as a whole, slid 17.47 points (0.56 percent) to 3,078.4, with 5,906 shares worth $49,777.70 transacted.

The BSX Insurance Index, however, closed up 20.93 points (2.76 percent) at 777.32.
