Chamber launches Wired Wednesday 2009 series
Managing databases and IBM will be the focus for computer users at the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce's Business Technology Division (BTD) first Wired Wednesday event of 2009 later this week.
BCS, IBM's Bermuda agency, will feature computer storage industry experts Andrew Grimes, of NetApp, who has more than nine years of experience working in disk technology, and Marty Berger, who brings to the event more than 23 years of IT experience and successfully led the IBM N series business programme to record achievements.
Ronnie Viera, chairman of the BTD, said: "This month's event will feature guest experts, sponsored by IBM, from Fortune Magazine's No.1 Best Company to Work For, NetApp -Marty Berger and Andrew Grimes.
"They will discuss the strength of the IBM-NetApp relationship and share their insights on the IBM N series unified storage architecture designed to reduce costs, increase business responsiveness, and deliver highly available, scalable, and cost effective storage consolidation."
The IBM N series storage solutions help customers effectively manage database environments from Microsoft Exchange & SQL, Oracle, and SAP, and unites storage environments, including Network Attached Storage, Fibre Channel Storage Area Networks, iSCSI or IP-based Storage Area Networks, under a common theme.
During the event, Mr. Grimes and Mr. Berger will share their insights on the technology trends changing today's computing infrastructure, from a move towards a more agile and flexible infrastructure that adapts as business demands change to server virtualisation.
This month's event will take place at the Bermuda National Gallery on Wednesday, March 18, between 5.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m.To book your place call Fiona LInes at the Chamber of Commerce on 295-8932 or e-mail flines@bcc.bm
