Cocktails and designer shoes... a heady mix
A mix too alluring for many women to resist will be on offer tonight at Perry Footwear — complimentary cocktails paired with designer shoes selling at a discount!
The shoe store is hosting a shopping night in conjunction with Style Bermuda from 6-9 this evening to celebrate the launch of Perry Collections — a new range of footwear from designers like Marc Jacobs, Givenchy, Donna Karan, Stuart Weitzman and others which will be housed on the second floor of the shop.
As the lucky invitees to tonight's event browse the shoes on offer — many from designers exclusive to the shop — they will sip cocktails, enjoy mini massages courtesy of Serenity Spa and compete for give-aways which include a $350 shop voucher and a pair of Marc Jacobs shoes. And the designer goodies? Well all the shoes and bags will be selling at 15 percent off tonight at the launch evening.
To house the designer shoes, a designer space was deemed needed. The theme of the floor is "French Antique with a Modern Day Twist" and is characterised by two gorgeous chandeliers and fixtures that were custom made in Italy," Style Bermuda's Shiona Turini told The Royal Gazette.
"Perry Collections explores a whole new level of the fashion industry," buyer and manager Tiffany Perry said of the launch. "The shoes are all by high-end collection designers, where quality is never compromised for anything. All of the shoes are made in either Italy or Spain, and are custom ordered and produced for Perry Collections. If there is something I don't like about a shoe, as the buyer, I request it be changed to something satisfying. The colours, materials and exotic textures of the some of the shoes are absolutely amazing — they're like little pieces of art."
Perry Footwear is celebrating just one year in business this month but already pounced on the opportunity to expand. "Perry Collections shines a new light on Bermuda's fashion arena, in the sense that it is bringing something new, edgy and innovative to the somewhat lack of high-fashion the Island currently has," Ms Perry said.
She hopes the designer offerings will help bounce the shop through a possibly challenging Christmas sales season. "While the economy is somewhat suffering at this time, I am confident that our sales will remain strong for the holiday season," she said.
Perry Collections will also take special orders for weddings, banquets and other events, she added.
The decision to pair Style Bermuda — a fashion, lifestyle and entertainment website run by Ms Turini — for the launch was serendipitous, Ms Perry said.
"They had approached me regarding a different business proposition, and in discussing with them the new upcoming showroom opening, we decided to partner up on it," she said. "Style Bermuda has been a tremendous aid in the entire process and has been a pleasure to work alongside. Their professionalism and knack for fashion have also brought a lot to the table throughout the whole process. They are a pleasure to work with. If I ever did something along these lines again, I wouldn't think twice about partnering with them again."
Shoppers are encouraged to come out in cocktail attire to tonight's launch and may just find the perfect stilettos to carry on their night to the wee hours.
