Cox and Slayton state the PLUS points
More than 100 underwriters descended on the Fairmont Hamilton Princess for an educational conference at the fifth annual PLUS Bermuda Perspective Symposium
PLUS, the Professional Liability Underwriting Society, is a non-profit organisation established in 1986 to enhance the professionalism of its members through education and other activities and to responsibly address issues related to professional liability.
The conference covered Bermuda's role in the insurance marketplace and how it impacts the overall professional liability landscape.
Deputy Premier Paula Cox told the underwriters that Bermuda was considered the "flagship of the British overseas territories" and spoke of its international reputation as a good place to do business.
US Consul General Gregory Slayton told the underwriters, many of whom came from overseas, about the importance of Bermuda and the US maintaining a close relationship. He added that he believed that the relationship would continue regardless of who entered the White House in 2009.
