Expanding QuoVadis hires Kilborn
QuoVadis has hired Barry Kilborn to serve as chief risk and compliance officer, supporting its ongoing expansion into international markets.
Mr. Kilborn has over 12 years' experience in IT risk and assurance, including specific expertise in auditing certification authorities like QuoVadis. He previously served as a senior manager for Ernst & Young in Bermuda.
Stephen Davidson, director of development for QuoVadis, said: "As an internet security provider, QuoVadis maintains official accreditations in several countries that provide legal benefits to our customers. These require detailed security audits to a variety of standards including those from AICPA/CICA WebTrust, the European Telecommunications Standards Initiative (ETSI), and the International Standards Organisation (ISO).
"Barry will oversee these considerable compliance activities, as well as lead our internal Policy Management Authority." In addition to its strong disaster recovery business in Bermuda, QuoVadis is a global provider for online identity, encryption, and electronic signature solutions.
QuoVadis has expanded from its Bermuda roots and now also has offices in Switzerland, the UK and Holland, and is enabled in most commonly used software.
"QuoVadis has grown considerably since taking on investments from local KeyTech and US private equity firm ABRY Partners, so that the majority of our clients and our staff are now located overseas. Barry's appointment is one of several measures taken to ensure our expansion and new offerings continue to fulfil our complex regulatory and customer obligations," Mr. Davidson added.
Mr. Kilborn is a qualified Chartered Accountant, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP). He also sits on the Board of the Bermuda Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
