Human resources consultancy Performance Solutions has appointed Andrea Haffar as president and senior consultant.

In her new role, Ms Haffar, a Bermudian, will be responsible for new business development, overseeing client relations and providing expertise in more complex human resources matters.

Prior to her appointment, Ms Haffar directed the human resources department at Elbow Beach, which she joined in 2000. Previously, she managed the human resources programme for Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd. and gained her first taste of the industry in the recruitment department at Bank of Bermuda.

Her background in the hospitality, aviation and financial services industries will allow her to advise in matters relating to coaching and counselling, immigration policies, and labour relations, as well as recruitment and selection, and human resource administration, the company said.

"Her management skills and extensive knowledge of the island's employment laws and guidelines will be key assets for our clients. Andrea's expertise and focus will also be vital in continuing the growth of Performance Solutions."

Ms Haffar earned her Bachelor of Commerce degree in Business Administration from Saint Mary's University in Canada. Her Certificate in Human Resource Management was awarded following completion of the human resources programme sponsored jointly by St. Mary's University and the Nova Scotia Human Resource Management Association.
