P-Tech opens audio-visual shop

In business: P-Tech AV is offering local shoppers high-end home etertainment systems from its new location on the lower floor of the Phoenix Centre.

The Phoenix Stores Group is expanding its P-Tech brand with the opening of P-Tech AV, which will sell a wide range of audio-visual brands, including TVs, home theatres and stereo systems.

The new shop is located on the lower level of the Phoenix Centre, where the Annex toy store was previously located.

The Annex is now relocated on the upper floor of the Phoenix Centre, where it has been merged with Phoenix Kidz.

P-Tech AV, which has 3,500 square feet of space, will feature brands including Pioneer, Sony , Panasonic, Samsung, and Yamaha.

"P-Tech AV is primarily comprised of fine audiovisual products. In addition to LCD and Plasma TVs, there is a dedicated area featuring renowned high definition 1080p Blu Ray technology product series. Our sales center provides professional consultancy services for our customers," said Kevin DeSilva, Manager P-TECH & P-Tech AV.

Phoenix Stores chief executive officer George Grundmuller said the company was aiming to fill a gap in the market, claiming that local consumers have been limited in their choices for high end home entertainment equipment "and have often times had to settle for something less preferred".

He also said the store would deter people from going abraod to find the "ultimate in home entertainment products", adding that P-Tech AV would provide professional consultancy services and complete installation solutions and warranties.

The store also has two concept cinema rooms featuring "high-end sophisticated equipment such as best-in-class HDTV from Pioneer and sound systems from Energy, for the ultimate at-home cinema experience".

P-Tech AV will have its grand opening on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
