Tech entrepreneur McCal Roberts is offering free advice on how to go about setting up a website for the month of August.

Mr. Roberts' company Mac10 Soft will also be happy to advise on other tech-based issues, such as video editing and software design.

Armed with some basic technical knowledge before they hire someone to design a website, for example, Mr. Roberts believes he can help businesses and individuals save a lot of money.

"Why spend thousands of dollars on a consultant to build a website, when there is so much you can do yourself?" Mr. McCal said.

"Since the recession has hit Bermuda, people have been looking to cut costs more and more."

Mr. Roberts has taught himself about web templates through online tutorials and seminars.

He is offering the free service — in person at his office, over the phone, or via the web — for this month to increase awareness of his business and the services he can provide.
