sRichards called to the Bar
Surrounded by family, Victor Everard Trenton Richards was called to the Bermuda Bar on Friday, with Chief Justice Richard Ground presiding.
Participating in the ceremony were UK Crown Court Judge Patricia Dangor and Rokeya Dangor, Mr. Richards' aunt and cousin respectively, members of the UK Bar.
Mr. Richards is also the grandson of the late Sir Edward Richards, a former Premier and leading member of the Bermuda Bar.
Mr. Richards was proposed by David Astwood of Conyers Dill and Pearman where he is an associate in the corporate department.
Mr. Richards obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Philosophy from the University of Western Ontario, after which he obtained a Master's Degree in Legal Studies from the University of Bristol. He subsequently successfully completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in London.
He obtained a training contract with the Bristol firm of solicitors Bevan Brittan, after which he was retained as a Junior Associate at that firm. He gained further experience in international corporate law when he joined the international law firm of Reed Smith.
In December, 2009 he returned to Bermuda with his wife Adria and joined Conyers Dill and Pearman.
Victor Richards is the son of Pauline and E.T. (Bob) Richards.s
