Stocks on the slide

Stocks completed a miserable week on The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index, with four companies seein their share prices fall.

The biggest losers were the utilities firms, Belco Holdings Ltd. and KeyTech Ltd., which fell $1.45 (6.9 percent) and five cents (0.39 percent) respectively.

Elsewhere, Argus Group Holdings Ltd. had a tough week, dropping 75 cents (5.08 percent), while Butterfield Bank closed down 40 cents (2.68 percent) for the week.

Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd. (1,700 shares), Watlington Waterworks Ltd. (1,100), Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd. (1,000), Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd. (1,000) and BF&M Ltd. (five) all traded, but their share values remained unchanged.

The Index, as a whole, declined 126.09 points (2.85 percent) to 4,410.99, as a total of 62,091 shares worth $918,696.45 changed hands.
