Stocks take tumble

Stocks tumbled on The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday with the utilities and banking sectors hit hardest.
Belco Holdings Ltd. fell 25 cents (1.53 percent) to $16 with 400 shares traded, while Butterfield Bank was down 15 cents (1.36 percent) at $10.85, as 450 shares changed hands.
The only other trader was BF&M Ltd., but its share value remained unchanged.
The Index as a whole dropped 30.78 points (0.88 percent) at 3,478.92, with 950 shares worth $13,015 traded.
The BSX Insurance Index also declined 5.25 points (0.61 percent) to 849.92.
