Utilities take a hit
Utilities was the hardest hit sector on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday, with no fewer than two companies seeing their share prices drop.
The Ascendant Group Ltd. fell $1 (6.66 percent) to $14 with 9,800 shares traded, while KeyTech Ltd. declined 55 cents (6.47 percent) to $7.95 as 1,100 shares changed hands.
BF&M Ltd. also slid 70 cents (4.37 percent) to $15.30 with 7,400 shares transacted.
Other traders included Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd. (8,700 shares) and Butterfield Bank (2,626 shares), but both of their share values remained unchanged.
The Index, as a whole, slipped 42.73 points (2.06 percent) to 2,031.23 as 29,626 shares worth BD$320,894 and 19,850 shares worth US$220,812.50 were traded.
The BSX Insurance Index was also down 19.5 points (two percent) at 953.42.
