LinkBermuda formerly Cable & Wireless Bermuda has joined the Telx Ethernet Exchange in the Metro New York City region.By joining the Telx Ethernet Exchange in Telx’s strategically located New York City data center, LinkBermuda said it will continue the expansion of its network and service delivery footprint in the US and beyond, opening new business opportunities with other providers of Ethernet-based services with requirements in Bermuda.“Our presence on the Telx Ethernet Exchange will serve as a key gateway to facilitate traffic flowing in and out of Bermuda,” said Scott Socol, vice-president of Carrier Relations for LinkBermuda.“We are excited about the opportunities presented by joining the Telx Ethernet Exchange community. It will allow us to offer a greater choice of low latency connectivity services for our customers by tapping into the substantial hub of providers Telx offers at this important location in the United States, and throughout the other locations across the country. We see tremendous value in linking the ease of access of the Telx Ethernet Exchange with our integrated bundle of secure international telecommunications services and off-shore cloud computing facilities.”He said customers can experience low-latency, highly reliable Ethernet, MPLS, Internet, voice and data services through the wide ranging connections carried on the Telx Ethernet Exchange.“LinkBermuda is the latest example of international service providers who find value in our constantly growing Ethernet Exchange community in New York City, one of the most strategic telecommunications markets in the US to establish interconnection services,” said Glenn Calafati, VP of InterConnection Services with Telx.“Global companies need a secure, low-latency connection point from which they can rely on fast, cost-effective exchange of traffic and they continue to find this with our Ethernet Exchange. We look forward to being part of LinkBermuda’s ongoing US growth campaign and to meeting their expanding connectivity needs.”
