Executive Women’s Golf Association chapter formed
A new golf association is forming that looks to cater to female professionals looking to up their game both on and off the golf course.The Bermuda Chapter of Executive Women’s Golf Association (EWGA) will be holding two informational sessions over the next several weeks and you don’t have to be an executive or even a golfer to join.Spearheaded by Gina Bassett, a banking executive, this initiative has been initially funded by the Department of Tourism and supported by golf directors from the Bermuda’s golf courses.“Whether you are getting ready to learn the game, seeking ways to improve your skills, expanding your network of business contacts, or just wanting to unwind with a new circle of friends at social gatherings and fun golf get-togethers — the EWGA is the place for you,” reads the informational packet.The international organisation consists of more than 14,000 members in over 125 countries and have corporate partners including the PGA, Golf Digest, Golf World and the Golf Channel.The newly forming Bermuda chapter is working with local golf courses, restaurants, beauty shops and sports stores to offer their members benefits and discounts.Two informational sessions will be held, including one on August 23, 2012 at 7pm at Port Royal Golf Course and a second on September 5, 2012 at Tucker’s Point.To learn more about the sessions or the association, contact Gina Bassett on 441-599-4419 or bermudagina@yahoo.com.
