Calling all power engineers

The Department of Workforce Development is hosting an information session for those in the power engineering profession today.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss proposed power engineer regulations and national certification within the profession.

The meeting will take place at the Bermuda College (Room H100) from 6pm to 8.30pm.

A Ministry spokesperson said: “Power engineers have come to be considered as the prime movers of industry and commerce. Those employed in these positions are dedicated engineers who operate and maintain the equipment and systems which heat, cool, electrify and produce goods and services.

Examples of power engineers include steam engineer, stationary engineer, operating engineer, steam plant operator, boiler operator, building operator and refrigerator plant operator.
