Waterloo House luxury apartments all leased

Luxury: One of the penthouse apartments at Waterloo House

Seven new luxury waterfront apartments that command monthly rents of up to $20,000 have all been leased.

The five three-bedroom units and two two-bedroom units are at Waterloo House, a high-end office and residential rental property developed by the Green family.

Rents for the penthouse apartments with views over Hamilton Harbour and the City of Hamilton, range from $14,000 a month to $20,000. The units range in size from 2,800 to over 4,200 square feet, including balconies.

The apartments were marketed exclusively by Rego Sotheby’s International Realty.

Penny MacIntyre, executive vice-president at Rego Sotheby’s International Realty, said: “It has been an honour to work with the Green family and be a part of their vision to revitalise Hamilton.

“Waterloo House demonstrates the high demand for luxury urban living in Bermuda and is especially appealing because of the prime location, beautiful views and luxury amenities.

“The tenants include CEOs, principals of businesses and executives, some who already lived on the Island and some who are new to Bermuda. They sought modern urban living close to ferries, taxis, dining, shopping and business district — all of which Waterloo House offers.

“We are encouraged by the positive news that some of the tenants are new to Bermuda. This is indicative of the Island showing signs that people consider Bermuda a viable destination for international business and residence, helping to encourage much needed stimulus to the economy.”

A spokesperson for the Green family said: “The completion of Waterloo House is the realisation of a vision we had of an environmentally sustainable, luxury residential and commercial development in the heart of Hamilton.

“We believe there is still an active market for high quality property in Bermuda and a testament to that is the short time it took for Penny and her team to lease all the penthouses.”
