Law student Finnerty awarded scholarship
A Bermuda student has won a $7,500 scholarship from an island legal firm.
Former Saltus Grammar School pupil William Finnerty, entering his second year of a law degree at Exeter University in England, picked up the award from Taylors, in association with Walkers.
Kevin Taylor, managing partner of the firm, said: “The calibre of applicants for the award was of a very high standard and the partners were particularly impressed with Mr Finnerty's measured and focused approach, not only to his studies but also to his community and extracurricular activities and career aspirations.”
Taylors, in association with Walkers, opened at the start of the year and this is the first scholarship award.
Mr Taylor added: “The firm intends to further develop its support in the future, to extend offers of summer internship programmes and pupillages.”
