Bermudian Michael Lima has been named as general manager for international operations at American Fidelity International (Bermuda).

He has more than 30 years involvement in the insurance industry, with particular expertise in international life insurance.

Mr Lima was general manager in Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada’s international programme.

In 2005, he joined the BF&M Group in Bermuda and launched Bermuda International Insurance Services Limited, which was then acquired by Valor Group Ltd two years ago.

In his new role he will be responsible for expanding the AFIBL footprint globally and developing new product initiatives for international clients in Asia and Europe.
