What investing is and why it matters will be the topic of a lunch-and-learn event to be held during World Investor Week.

The Bermuda Chamber of Commerce’s Emerging Professionals Division will host the Chartered Financial Analysts Society Bermuda event at the Argus building on Thursday, October 5.

Co-presenters will be Joel Schaefer, president and chief executive officer of AFL Investments Ltd, and Nathan Kowalski, chief financial officer of Anchor Investment Management Ltd.

The marking of World Investment Week in Bermuda has been initiated by the Bermuda Stock Exchange.

Meredith Lombardo, the Bepro chairwoman, said: “We are very excited to be partnering with the BSX again and want to thank them for sharing their expertise and time with us.

“The previous event with the BSX was well attended and I feel the attendees gained valuable insight into investing by coming. We are thoroughly looking forward to the second instalment and know the presenters have a wealth of additional knowledge about investing to share that you’re not going to want to miss.”

Another feature of World Investment Week will be the WIW Quiz Challenge, which has a grand prize of a $2,500 Bermuda securities portfolio. Questions will be embedded in a series of articles appearing from Monday, October 2 to Saturday, October 7, in The Royal Gazette’s Business section.
