A former president of CNBC has joined the board of Butterfield Bank.

Pamela Thomas-Graham has been appointed a non-executive director.

She is a Harvard-educated entrepreneur and executive with nearly three decades of experience in the financial services, media and apparel industries.

Ms Thomas-Graham is the founder and chief executive officer of Dandelion Chandelier LLC, a private digital media enterprise focused on the intersection of luxury, marketing and technology.

Previously she worked at Credit Suisse where one of her roles was chief talent, branding and communications officer.

She was managing director at private equity firm Angelo, Gordon & Company from 2008 to 2010. She has also worked at Liz Claiborne and NBC Universal, where she was CEO of CNBC.com and later was president and CEO of CNBC.

Ms Thomas-Graham began her career at global consulting firm McKinsey & Company in 1989, and became the firm’s first African-American female partner in 1995. She was named one of the “Top 10 Consultants in America” by Consulting Magazine in 1999.
