KPMG offers new $20,000-a-year scholarship

KPMG in Bermuda has a new scholarship to be awarded to a Bermudian university student interested in pursuing a non-accounting career with the company.

The scholarship will provide assistance towards the completion of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in a business-related subject, and will be offered in addition to the existing KPMG Accounting Scholarship, awarded to students committed to studying for a professional accounting designation.

The award is valued at $20,000 per annum and is renewable for a total of three years, providing the student meets all of the required conditions.

Consistent with the KPMG accounting scholarship, the new award also offers the recipient the opportunity to enter the company's graduate programme upon the successful completion of their degree, and take part in KPMG's Global Advantage Programme.

The interactive three-day leadership development programme is for top university students. It combines classroom training with a client experience, cultural activities, networking, and fun. The classroom training is developed by the award-winning KPMG US Business School and taught by KPMG US National Partner Instructors. This year's GA event will take place in Amsterdam, and will be attended by KPMG's 2017 Scholarship recipient, Conor Lohan.

Steve Woodward, managing director and chairman of the Graduate Committee said: “KPMG is committed to developing the careers of our Bermudian students, so we are thrilled to announce this additional investment in a new non-accounting scholarship.

“In addition, providing the opportunity for our scholarship recipients to attend the KPMG Global Advantage programme, will allow them to broaden their knowledge and experience, interact with some of the top students from around the world, and gain insight into what a career with KPMG can offer.”

To apply, applications can be downloaded from The deadline for the new KPMG Scholarship is June 29.
