Argo launches graduate training programme
Argo Group International Holdings has launched a graduate training programme in Bermuda.
The island-based specialty insurance and reinsurance underwriter said the programme will give recent graduates who meet the academic criteria “an unprecedented exposure” to the company.
“Argo Group is committed to helping train and develop young talent in Bermuda,” Dianna Mitchell, senior human resources business partner at Argo Group, said.
“We developed the Argo Group Graduate Training Programme to help recent graduates plan for the future and to show them what it is like to work in international business. Training programmes like ours are important to build the local workforce and continue to give back to the community.”
Students participating in the programme will rotate through a variety of departments at Argo Insurance and Ariel Re until September 2020.
The following recent graduates were selected to take part:
• Ryan Spencer-Arscott: graduated from St John’s University with a Bachelor of Science in actuarial science and is currently studying for his actuarial exams.
• Tatyana Butterfield: graduated from Temple University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in risk management and insurance. She also is a member of Women in Reinsurance and is working towards her CPCU and ARe designations, as well as her RAA Scholar Certificate.
• Daniel Pell: graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in economics from University of Waterloo and is studying for his CPCU designation.
• Brittney Walbaum: graduated from Hawaii Pacific University with a bachelor of science in mathematics, and from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science in psychology. She is pursuing her master of business administration online with Jack Welch Management Institute at Strayer University.
“Being selected as a 2018 graduate trainee brings me one step closer to my career goal of becoming a underwriter,” said Butterfield. “I am grateful to belong to a company that is so committed to its employees, clients and communities.”
