Saturday night was the night to party and Snorkel Park was the place to be.

Amidst the multitude of about 1,500 people, the great music and endless cocktails made up the Fever Foam Party — Bermuda’s first outdoor foam party.

Guests were met by the beautiful Fever ladies handing out complimentary shots of Fever mixed with Bacardi Razz and flashing necklaces with the Fever logo.

A fun castle complete with a slide, three bars stocked with every liquor imaginable and the foam pit lured in guests for a night of fun.

I arrived at Snorkel Park around 10.30 p.m., a little concerned by the half empty venue. I assumed that most people would come up on the fast ferry to avoid driving all the way to Dockyard. I was mistaken.

By 11.30 p.m., Snorkel Park was filled with people ready to have a good time in the foam.

Girls donned the hottest bathing suits with or without cover-ups while some guys wore swim attire but most stayed in regular party clothes.

The Homegrown Band opened up the party with many reggae hits while DJ Chaos, OB1, Double S and Young Gunz played the hottest reggae, hip-hop, soca and house music.

Around 12 a.m., the DJs introduced the Fever ladies as they entered the foam pit. Brenton Richardson, owner of Bermynet cranked up the machine spraying foam everywhere and the party began.

The drink of choice that night was definitely Fever. I saw it mixed with vodka, tequila, Hennessy and Bacardi rums. Everywhere you looked, someone was drinking Fever. Everyone that I spoke to enjoyed its fruity taste.

The music was great. From the minute I stepped in until the minute I left, my hips were moving and my head was bopping. I was actually surprised by some of the new music that was played. At one point in the night, the DJ started to put on house music and said: “This is a party, we have to play a little bit of house.”

I hadn’t expected the selection of music to be as good as it was so I can say that I was pleasantly surprised.

The foam pit itself was an interesting experience. I had never been to a foam party before so I didn’t know what to expect. In the pit, it looked like a washer machine had exploded and everyone was playing around in the suds. It was definitely as enjoyable experience. Fever was worth all the hype because it is very mixable and tasty. I had it with Bacardi Razz, Bacardi Limon and Hennessy.

The Fever Foam Party was an excellent event. People were having fun even if they were just chilling on the side watching others in the foam pit. The music was great — as we Bermudians would say, “they was running tune”.

There were no fights or altercations whatsoever. Police presence aided in the violence free night and ensured everything ran smoothly.

Actually, the whole atmosphere of the party was superb. I can honestly say that this is one of the best parties I have been to in a long time.

I’ve heard people asking if there is going to be another one. Organisers, we’re waiting!
