Prize winner Sabrina opens show

Charman Prize 2010 winner Sabrina Alexandria Powell opens a solo show at Masterworks tomorrow night.

Entitled 'Hidden Treasures', it is part of the gallery's Artists in the Gardens Series.

Her award-winning piece 'Raw Gombey' is part of the Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Arts collection. It will be on display in a special installation for the duration of her show.

Other works include new paintings and drawings.

Miss Powell received a fine arts degree with a specialty in art education from Concordia University. She also earned an associate degree in art and design from Bermuda College.

Also on display during the opening reception will be 'Floral Lane', the new Bermudiana Collection exhibition in the Butterfield Family Gallery. Highlights include a vintage Austin A30 with passengers on a virtual floral tour of Bermuda and a host of paintings rarely before shown from the Bermudiana Collection.

Tonight's opening will be held from 5.30pm to 7pm in the Botanical Gardens gallery.
