Astwood graduates from Clark Atlanta
Crystal MCV Astwood, daughter of Christine and the late Raymond W Astwood, graduated Summa Cum Laude (with highest distinction) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Clark Atlanta University, Atlanta, Georgia, on May 21, 2001.
Crystal, who obtained a 3.94 grade point average, was also inducted into the Honorary Society of Beta Gamma Sigma, the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive at a school accredited by the AACBS.
At a luncheon for graduating seniors in the Business School, Crystal was awarded with two awards: "Top Senior Student in Accounting, School of Business Administration 2001" and "Academic Excellence. Top Student Overall, 3.94 Cumulative GPA. Accounting Major- School of Business Administration 2001".
Crystal is also a graduate of Bermuda College, The Berkeley Institute, and Heron Bay Primary.
While at Clark Atlanta University she was a member of the Accounting Club, Accounting Banquet Planning Committee, and participated in an accounting case competition hosted by Deloitte & Touche in Florida.
rystal is also a student member of the National Association of Black Accountants - Atlanta Chapter (NABA) and the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA).
Attending the ceremonies were her mother, sisters Alice Astwood-Smith and Raynae Fleming, nephews LeShane and LeShun Smith and her cousin from New York, Violet Thompson.
