Ballet comes to Government House
Dance enthusiasts are in for a treat as the Bermuda Civic Ballet is set to perform La Bayadere, a romantic comedy set in India, on the grounds of Government House from August 21 through August 24.
Since 1972, the Civic Ballet has provided the opportunity for local dancers to perform on a semi-professional level, while working with both local and overseas choreographers.
Coral Waddell, director of the Civic Ballet, said: "We are very pleased to be able to celebrate the Civic Ballet's thirtieth anniversary with such an exciting performance."
Renowned international ballet instructor Tatiana Legat has returned to Bermuda to coach the principal dancers for La Bayadere, while David Drummond from the Boston Ballet will choreograph the performance.
In addition to overseas talent, local dancers including Ashley Miller, Carey Hansley, Wynette Hollis, Shomeiko Ingham, Keith Madeiros and Heather McKenzie will perform.
Tickets for the anniversary performance are available from the Visitors' Service Bureau Box Office from 10 a.m to 2 p.m..
