Become a card-carrying Bermuda booster!

The Visitor Industry Partnership, the 2004 Bermuda End to End, the Department of Tourism and Total Marketing have come together to produce this "Bermuda at your fingertips" card, available for locals to hand out to anyone they meet while travelling overseas who is interested in Bermuda as a potential holiday destination.

Every time a Bermudian goes overseas, a foreigner invariably says: ?Wow! You?re from Bermuda?? And then adds, ?Where is Bermuda anyway??

Now, thanks to the Visitor Industry Partnership (VIP), it has become that much easier for Bermudians to explain ? and to show potential visitors different ways they can get to the Island.

The ?Bermuda at your fingertips? card is business-card sized and points the way towards all the information that visitors might want about Bermuda ? particularly the Department of Tourism website and the websites of various airlines and cruise lines which regularly travel to the Island, as well as tiny photographs of some of the best attractions Bermuda has to offer.

The cards, which are being made available in departure lounges at the airport and will soon become available at travel agencies, are the result of collaboration between creative talents at the Department of Tourism and Total Marketing Group.

The initiative was designed and spearheaded by the VIP, funded with generous donations from the 2004 Bermuda End to End.

?We encourage you to take a few of these cards on your travels and the next time someone you meet says, ?Wow, you?re from Bermuda!? you can pull out this handy little card and invite them to learn more about how they can book a holiday to Bermuda,? VIP chairwoman Barbara O?Shaughnessy said.

?The card also has a little map indicating where Bermuda is located in our relationship to the rest of the world and features our gateway cities.?

The initiative is ?central? to the Department of Tourism?s goal to increase visitor arrivals, Tourism Minister Ewart Brown said this week.

Bermuda?s biggest selling points are that it is close, safe, and the friendliness of locals, he said. These cards take advantage of that friendliness. ?No one sells Bermuda better than Bermudians.?

Ms O?Shaughnessy agreed. ?If every Bermuda resident travelling overseas took a moment to pass along one of these cards to a potential visitor or a business associate, VIP believes that we can increase our visitor arrivals to Bermuda and make a difference.

?Support Tourism, it supports you!? cards can be provided to businesses in bulk either at the Department of Tourism or at the VIP.
