Chef gets prestigious US certification

A Bermuda chef has been certified as an executive chef by the American Culinary Federation.Christopher M. Malpas underwent written and practical examinations in addition to completing coursework on food safety, nutrition and supervisory management to qualify for the certification, which is held by more than 11,000 professionals world-wide.

Christopher M. Malpas underwent written and practical examinations in addition to completing coursework on food safety, nutrition and supervisory management to qualify for the certification, which is held by more than 11,000 professionals world-wide.
Mr. Malpas is the executive chef at Butterfield Bank in Hamilton and is a member of the Bermuda Chefs Association.
Chefs who attain the ACF?s certification must demonstrate commitment to quality food service and renew their certification every five years. The ACF is the only certifier of US master chefs and master pastry chefs.
