BERMUDA FELINE ASSISTANCE BUREAU Our wish is that everyone will help stop the cycle of unwanted animals by having their cat(s) neutered. If people will do that we won?t have a job, which is exactly how we would like it to be.
BERMUDA NATIONAL TRUST: As Bermuda?s largest landowner and a registered charity, we?ve got a so many things to take care of; therefore our wishes are many and varied. Here goes: For our Environmental Conservation Officer: a 4WD jeep to get into and out of the Nature Reserves, and a new set of ?Weedwrench? tools for pulling out the invasive trees raiding our nature reserves. For our Education Officer: a new, dedicated space to use as a classroom teaching area ? ideally centrally located, with bathrooms/play area a ?must?. For our Maintenance Superintendent: a Walt or Makita cordless hammer drill, and a portable compressor for spray painting shutters. Free paint for a year would be very welcome since we use so much of it. For our landscaping crew: a small work boat to access the islands we care for. BERMUDA RIDING FOR THE DISABLED: Here?s what we need to enhance the riding experience of our participants: Sheepskin saddle cover ($130); a tactile awareness box of ?touchie feelies? KEMH CONTINUING CARE UNIT We have 102 patients in the Continuing Care programme, (49 males and 53 females), so you can imagine we have many wishes. Activity supplies such as games and puzzles are needed, as well as volunteers to assist with feeding and reading to the patients. LCCA: It is our sincere wish that the Home Care Programme, which we are funding after consultation and collaboration with the Bermuda Hospital Board, becomes fully implemented. This will facilitate those patients whose recovery and recuperation would be more effective at home rather than in the Continuing Care Unit of the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED ASSOCIATION OF BERMUDA We?re praying for a kind angel or angels to step in and finance the relicensing of our bus in February. Specifically, we need to cover bodywork and the insurance premium, which is almost $2000 per annum because we have volunteer drivers. STAR (Lighthouse): We truly need to spruce up our home, so we?re wishing for bedspreads for five bedrooms, each of which has two twin beds, plus matching curtains for two windows per room (so that?s ten twin bedspreads and ten pairs of curtains in all). Living room: What a sad place this is! Except for a dining room table, what should be the most comfortable communal room is empty. How we would love a settee (second hand in excellent condition is fine). We also need a new toaster oven and a deep freeze. SUNSHINE LEAGUE: We care for children aged eight to 16, and need all sorts of help. Anything on our list would be joyously received, so here goes: Service vouchers for or towards the cost of: Purchasing and installing an exhaust hood for our stove; building maintenance; cleaning services; landscaping/gardening; plumbing services; hardware stores (for mini-blinds, curtain rods, etc.). In the beauty department, we?d like vouchers for Dimensions Salon and hair cuts at Kim Kita?s. For special outings, vouchers for the movie theatres, bowling and mini-golf would be great. Educational computer software would certainly be welcome, as would a DVD player and DVDs/CDs. For recreational activities, we need children?s aprons; arts and crafts supplies; jump ropes; puzzles; a football. Practically speaking, we could use a microwave cover; kitchen stool; potholders and dish towels. To keep old Jack Frost from our door, three radiator heaters are our final wish.
