Funds needed for toddlers? Phily trip
Toddlers will be going on a school field trip to Philadelphia, Pennsylvannia this summer ? if they manage to raise enough funds.
Happy Moments Nursery and Pre-school head Pauletta Furbert described the planned trip as ?a multi-sensory cultural excursion?. The week-long event will see the toddlers visit the Philadelphia Zoo, the Please Touch Museum, Crayloa Crayon Factory, Sesame Place, and the Sight and Sound Theater this June.
Ms Furbert said the nursery needs to raise at least $8,000 to make the trip possible as 20 children have already signed up.
In its first effort to raise funds the school has organised a special Black History celebration ? ?Our Youth, Our Hope, Our Future?. The evening will feature the Happy Moments Children?s Choir, Bethel AME Inspirational Choir, The Prospect Primary Choral Speakers, New Creation Worship Center?s praise dancers, God?s Heavenly Voices, poetry readings and dramatic presentations by Tona Symonds.
The event takes place at Bethel AME Church on Saturday, February 28 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 and $25 for patrons.
