Belcario Thomas cannot pick just one special moment with his mother. ?Generally it?s that warm fuzzy and comforting feeling that mom?s got your back,? he says of his mother. His mother is Clara Lillian Louise Thomas nee Fubler and she celebrated her birthday yesterday.

She is the wife of the late Freddy Thomas and is also the mother of Marico, Marquita, and Bethanne.

Mr. Thomas says his mother?s love for life is what inspires him.

?Immediately what comes to mind is my mom?s zest for living a happy and helpful life,? he said.

?While infectious, it?s automatically self-liberating ? giving me permission, as she lives her life, to be a unique, self-expressive individual, in tune with the beat of his own drum.?

Mr. Thomas says his mother makes the best pancakes.

?Killer, all day, home-made, secret recipe, pancakes, both sweet and savoury, no syrup necessary,? he says.

?The best, those bring-down-the-house apple cinnamon pancakes. And the most unusual ? those special corn pancakes.?

He says his mother always warns him of the Island?s damp weather and of ways to remain healthy.

?Drink lots of water? is one of the things she says to me and ?where?s your jacket, it?s damp out?, and regardless of if I have the flu or a broken leg ?it?s try a little brown vinegar for that?.

To make her day to day existence a little easier he says: ?I think somewhat vicariously, through having a full, balanced and happy life of my own, as a mom she can relax and lean back with a smile in the knowledge that she did an excellent job on her youngest and second best looking son!?
