Kardias Club event hailed as success

With new fashions as the backdrop, the Kardias Club received a welcome dose of spring during its sixth annual Coffee Morning on March 12.

The yearly event is held in an effort to raise funds for several charities and, according to Kardias Club public relations officer Betty Peterson, it was a successful affair.

Held at the Fairmont Southampton Hotel, who provided the morning treats, attendees included Olga Scott, wife of Premier Alex Scott, and former Committee of Six members Lady Gibbons and Louise Jackson, who witnessed the new spring fashions from The English Sport Shop (TESS) Ltd. Models strutted the cat walk in new arrivals from The English Sports Shop?s stores including Boutique C.C. ? formerly The Crown Colony Shop, Cecile?s and Aston and Gunn.

Guests were treated to the piano music of Vernon Douglas, who has provided his talent for the event for the last six years.Suzette Harvey?s United Dance Production Tappers also added to the entertainment line-up.

Donations from the Kardias Club successful event were donated to YouthNet and PRIDE.
