Kids Film Festival promises to serve up some reel treats
The Bermuda International Film Festival and Butterfield Bank have announced the film line-up for the first BIFF Kids Film Festival.
There are 22 films from nine countries which will be screened at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute auditorium on October 16 and October 17.
Films will screen at noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. each day. Four screenings are suitable for the seven to ten age group, with another four suitable for children aged between 11 and 14.
The juries are made up of local children who will decide the winning film in each age category.
Tickets for BIFF Kids are on sale tomorrow, October 8, and Saturday October 9, between 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the lobby of Butterfield Bank's Reid Street branch.
Jane Schoettle and Emily Scheer of the Sprockets Toronto International Film Festival for Children, the second largest children's film festival in North America, curated the film programme.
"Jane and Emily have done a wonderful job, assembling a first-class line-up of children's films," said BIFF Kids director Aideen Ratteray Pryse.
"We have short films, both animated and live action, plus narrative features and documentary films from around the world. We are most grateful to Jane and Emily for their guidance, and we are proud of our first-ever BIFF Kids film line-up."
