Rock fans are in for a rocking good time the night before Cup Match when Teachers RFC presents a Pre Cup Match Bash at Docksiders featuring the Lefty Lucy Band.

The Lefty Lucy Band is made up of Lucy Malia on Lead vocals and keys, Nick DiBlasio on guitar and lead vocals, Joey "Boom Boom" Mekler on drums, Dave "KapDaddy" Kaplan on bass and Trevor Kalan on lead guitar. They previously performed in Bermuda for six years between Hog Penny and Pickled Onion.
The band plays popular rock covers as well as original music. They currently have two CDs out ? On My Way and Turtle Sessions.
Mr. DiBlasio said people can expect "a fun rocking high energy show like we always do!"
He said they are looking forward to coming back to Bermuda to see their friends and being back on the Rock.
When asked about the highlight of the show, Mr. DiBlasio said, "The night before Cup Match is always a big night out so seeing everyone and playing for them is always fun."
According to their website, Lefty Lucy has been touring all over the world for the last ten years including locations such as Bermuda, the US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, the Panama Canal, Cabo San Lucas, Lake Tahoe, Colorado, Boston, Philadelphia, New Jersey, and many privately owned Motor Yachts.
They recently performed at Sammy Hagar's Cabo Wabo Cantina in Lake Tahoe, performing with members of Van Halen, Sammy Hagar's Waboritas, Whitesnake, Soul SirkUs, Night Ranger and more.
The band currently appears in Las Vegas at Toby Keith's "I Love this Bar and Grill," and "The Piano Bar," both located in Harrah's Casino; also at O'Shea's Casino right on The Strip.
Hit and Run is also a rock band made up of expatriates and a Bermudian vocalist.
The members are Rebecca (Becky) Corday on vocals, Steve Davies on guitar and vocals, Johan Oosthuizen on guitar and vocals, Pete Brodsky on drums, Gary Morris on guitar and Mike Jardine on bass.
Mr. Jardine said Hit and Run is considered a typical rock and roll band playing a range of music including sixties ? Jimmy Hendrix ? to contemporary ? Avril Lavigne.
When asked what people can expect at the concert, Mr. Jardine said, "They should expect a good night out. Docksiders is a great venue for live entertainment. We played with the same group there last year and it was a full house".
"The audience can expect to see a couple of groups that they normally wouldn't see in Bermuda. There are some great entertainers on the island but only so many venues supporting live entertainment and thus only so many acts one can see. This show gives people a chance to see something a little different."
He also said: "Hit and Run is composed basically of accountants and lawyers who are having a good time. We can carry a tune but don't expect to be hitting the tour circuit anytime soon."
Mr. Jardine said the band is looking forward to watching Lefty Lucy perform.
"This is really just a big house party so we generally have a chance to catch up with lot of people who we normally don't see anymore because of busy work schedules, families and such."
There will also be drink specials ? Stella Artois, Amstel Light, Absolut Vodka and Lefty Lucy Shots for $3 each. The concert begins a 9 p.m. at Docksiders. Get your ticket early to avoid disappointment.
